Will we dream again?
Last night I had a dream that I believe the Lord gave me. My friend and I were both taking some steps toward some dreams we had, and we were succeeding in spite of the obstacles that stood in our way. The message for us was don't give up hope and don't be afraid to jump. I began to think about hope. The Biblical definition of hope is rooted in expectation. So when we are told to hope in the Lord, it quite literally means to expect Him to do something. There's a certainty implied that goes beyond the world's definition of hope. What causes us to lose our hope, our expectation that God really is who He says He is and does what He says He'll do? My friend, think back on the attacks the enemy has brought upon your life. They are meant to bring disappointments that destroy our expectation. Our hope.
Disappointments lead to hopelessness and hopelessness leads us to give up on our dreams. But God calls us to childlike faith. He desires to restore the wonder and innocence of our childhood so hope and expectation can live again. Dreams can be resurrected and brought to fruition. Lately my children have been dancing the instant they hear music playing, no questions asked. They're not always on the beat but they're just learning, as are we. What if we all began dancing to God's song over us and living out our dreams, no questions asked? Trust me when I say that I know "the struggle is real," but God wants to encourage us to keep hope alive. Let's keep dreaming, let's start dancing.
